What is the… Musical Muskrat Festival?

The name Musical Muskrat Festival was formed first because of the extensive musical history in Wingham.  Our town is home to CKNX radio as well as being the starting place of CKNX television and the famous “Barn Dance”.

The second part of the name is because of the beautiful Maitland River that flows through the town.  The Muskrat part comes in because the Muskrat makes it’s home in the riverbanks like the Maitland all across North America.  The combination gives us a name that provokes thought in anyone who hears it.

The festival will kick off on June 7th with a variety of events taking place over the course of the weekend, festivities end June 9th.
